Performer

Chris started playing professionally when he was 17 in a production of Cinderella for Crossroads Pantomimes at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham. This became the start of an illustrious career as a session musician. He has since performed internationally in numerous shows, including but not limited to,

Bat Out Of Hell on the West End and the UK Tours of Blood Brothers and The Rocky Horror Show. A career highlight for Chris was his involvement as a multi-instrumentalist with What's New Pussycat, a brand new musical featuring the music of Tom Jones at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.  Chris has continued his relationship with Crossroads Pantomimes for the past decade and is currently resident at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford as their reeds player. More recently, Chris has embarked on work for TV and radio, first appearing on Magic with the Musicals on Magic FM in 2020. He has since performed on all subsequent Magic at the Musicals concerts, recorded at the Royal Albert Hall and aired on Magic FM. During lockdown, Chris also joined the BBC Concert Orchestra at the London Palladium for a socially distanced concert titled Musicals: The Greatest Show, which was broadcast on BBC1 and BBC Radio 1. Since 2022, he has been the Reeds 1 chair for The National Lottery's Big Night of Musicals, broadcast on BBC1 and BBC Radio 2. Chris also performs regularly with multiple high-end function bands, and also as a soloist for an eclectic mix of events.

Chris is most commonly hired for weddings and parties and has a large catalogue of backing tracks. He can, therefore, cater to all musical tastes. If you are interested in hiring Chris as a solo Saxophonist, please email rangerwoodwindservices@gmail.com.
